Carol Jeanette (Peeples) Vickery, age 75, of Canon, died Friday, November 27, 2015 at her home following an extended illness.
Born September 26, 1940, she was the daughter of the late John and Sarah (Manley) Peeples. Prior to retirement she worked as the insurance administrator for Ty Cobb Healthcare System. She was a member of Double Branches Baptist Church, where she served the church as a Sunday School Teacher and Church Secretary.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: David and Dawn Vickery; daughter and son-in-law: Dean and James Hyde; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law: Elizabeth Vickery and Nathan Hipp and Jennifer and Tom Schie; great-grandchildren: Dylan Woody, Sophia Hipp, Porter Schie, and Ethan Hipp; brother: Johnny Peeples; and sisters: Mildred Prickett, Selma Vaughn, and Sylvia Sharpton; In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Geraldine Vickery; son: Ricky Vickery; and sister: Thelma Bond.
The funeral service will be held 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Double Branches Baptist Church with Rev. Corey Pulliam and Rev. Courtney Umbehant officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until the service. A private burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Double Branches Baptist Church.
