Mrs. Carol Thomason Whitfield, 75, of Maxwell Mill Road, Dewy Rose, went to be with Jesus Monday, January 22, 2018 at her home.

Born on October 26, 1942 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Hershel Thomason and June Harris Thomason.Mrs. Whitfield was a retired Detention Officer from the Hart County Sheriff Department and a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

Survivors include: three daughters: Tammy Bee of Dewy Rose, June Ankerich and her husband Chad of Hartwell, Tina Blackmon and her husband Jud of Hartwell; two sons: Bob Whitfield and his wife Angela of Westminster, SC, Chris Whitfield and his wife Janet of Hartwell; one sister: Sandra Scoggins of Walterboro, SC; fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Whitfield was preceded in death by her husband: Rudolph Whitfield.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Mr. Barry Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.The family is at their respective homes.
