Carole Marie Wooten Jefferson, age 83, of Hartwell, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Hart Care Center.
Born December 20, 1940, she was the daughter of the late L. T. and Falonia McCollum Wooten. She was a graduate of Franklin County High School. She had a diverse career that included working as a supervisor at Stone Manufacturing in Lavonia and later owning and operating Silo Center.
She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law: Gina & Kelly Burns of Toccoa; grandchildren: Christopher & Lindsay Burns of Hartwell, Alex & Crystal Burns of Savannah, Grace Burns of Orlando, FL, Seth Burns of Alto, and Megan Burns of Braselton; and siblings: Sonja Williams, Sandra Roberson, Mary Norton, Tot Wooten, Judy Patton, Shirley Scarborough, and Ree Alewine. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers: Bucky Wooten and Tim Wooten.
The funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the funeral home chapel. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 a.m. Carole's beloved nephews will honor her as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse (www.samaritanspurse.org) or the Franklin County Band Association (http://fchsband.net/donate.html).
