Mrs. Carole Gunnin Wilson, 78, of Bowman Hwy, Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at her home.

Born on December 11, 1941 in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late James E. Gunnin, Sr. and Vera Dutton Gunnin.Mrs. Wilson was a former bus driver for DeKalb County Schools and a retired bus driver and para-pro for Hart County Schools. She was a former member and Sunday School teacher at Rehoboth Baptist Church, Tucker GA and was a current member of Bio Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher.

Survivors include her five children: Nancy Hix (Tom) of Hartwell, Lisa Bucksot (Jeff) of Toccoa, John James Wilson (Joyce) of Hartwell, Linda Pierce (Mike) of Hartwell, Kathi Jo Vaughn (Johnny) of Hartwell; one brother: James E. "Bud" Gunnin (Jane) of Canton, GA; one sister: Faye Hughes (Roger) of Midlothian, VA; fifteen grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents; husband: John "Johnny" Wilson; twin brothers: Rick Gunnin and Ray Gunnin; and one grandchild: Harlan Rushing.

The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Everyone will be asked to practice Social Distancing.Also anyone can leave their condolences and best wishes on Carole's tribute page.

Graveside services for Mrs. Carole Wilson will be held Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at the Bio Baptist Church with Rev. Troy Ayers officiating.Everyone will be asked to practice Social Distancing and may want to bring a lawn chair.
