Mrs. Carolyn Mauldin Haley, age 87, of Lavonia, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Hart Care Center following an extended illness.
Born February 13, 1931, Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Labon and Newell (Leard) Mauldin. She retired from Sibley Mills as a cloth inspector. She was a member of the Lavonia First Baptist Church and active in the WMU and visitation ministry as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Haley volunteered as a Bingo worker at Brown Memorial Convalescent Center.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Philip and Myra Haley; daughter and son-in-law: Suzanne and Dennis Spears; daughter-in-law: Brenda Haley; grandchildren: Bryan Spears, Eric Spears, Paula Buck, Ashleigh Finger, Blake Haley, and Brennan Haley; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Tesla E. Haley; son: Paul Haley; brothers: Richard Pruitt, Leard Pruitt, Jack Mauldin, Hoyt Mauldin, John Mauldin, and George Mauldin; and sisters: Marjorie Embry, Jeanette Fischer, and Mae Nalley.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Lavonia First Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Finger officiating. Interment will follow in Lavonia City – Burgess Cemetery with Rev. Chris Chitwood officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Blake Haley, Brennan Haley, Devin Haley, Bryan Spears, Eric Spears, Justin Spears.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lavonia First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 47, Lavonia, GA 30553
