Carrie Lou Perkins Harris, age 93, of Lavonia, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025 at her home.

Born November 6, 1931, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mattie Lou Cisson Perkins. She retired from Milliken after many years of service in the lab. However, her proudest achievements were found in her roles as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Known for her unwavering care and compassion, Carrie Lou cherished her family above all else. Carrie Lou was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Lavonia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Lee Harris, Sr., her son, Oscar Lee Harris, Jr.; and her granddaughter, Christy Fleeman.

She is survived by her children, Steven Harris, Michael Harris, Keith Harris, and Janet Charles; grandchildren, Beth Harris, Brian Harris, Josh Harris, Kim Mann, Tim Harris, Misty Rice, Niki Stinson & Natalie Geiger; and sisters, Sarah Adams and Bobbie Jean Bartlett.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Brandon Crunkleton and Kevin Stinson officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Flowers are optional, or donations can be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Youth Group.
