Mr. Cecil Victor McMullen, 79, of Lavonia, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 at his home following an extended illness.
Born September 4, 1938, in Meridian, MS, he was the son of the late Percy Brown McMullen and Evelyn Louise (Rutledge) McMullen. He retired from the US Navy as Chief Yeoman. He was a member of The Church of God of the Union Assembly. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Eula (Taylor) McMullen and grandson: David Hooks, Jr.
He is survived by his daughters: Belinda and Rev. Jesse Eleton of Lavonia, Renee Starks of Round O, SC and Cindy and Brian Kite of Myrtle Beach, SC; son: Michael McMullen of Buford; grandchildren: Mandy Souther, Kelly Swing, Michael Swing, Theresa Hines, Basmah Masri, Michelle Demaree and Tyler Beltz; brother: James Arnold McMullen and wife, Irene of FL. and eleven great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the Church of God of the Union Assembly in Lavonia from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest Sunday, September 2, 2018 at 9:00 a.m.in Freedom Church Cemetery in Meridian, Mississippi.
