Mr. Chandler Willis Howell, 75, of 805 Flat Shoals Road, Bowersville, died Sunday, November 27, 2011 at his home.
Born on August 14, 1936 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of Lorene Eavenson Howell and the late Marvin Howell.He was retired from Monroe Auto Equipment Company, where he was a machine operator and was a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Lorene E. Howell of Bowersville; wife of 51 years, Dorothy "Dot" Rice Howell of the home; a son, Derrell Howell of Bowersville; a daughter, Karen Howell of Hartwell; two brothers, Joel Howell of Jackson and Doyle Howell of Bowersville; a sister, Martha Human of Lavonia; three grandchildren, Jason Howell, Laura Howell and Maxwell Moss; four great-grandchildren also survive.Mr. Howell was preceded in death by his father; a son, Chad Howell; a brother, Alston Howell and two sisters, Mary Rhoads and Naomi Parks.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 29 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Ben Coleman and Rev. Johnny Stowe officiating.Burial will follow in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Monday.The family is at the home.
