Charles T. "Sandman" Baughcum, age 72, of Lavonia, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017 at his home following an extended illness.
Born July 11, 1945, in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late Charlie and Bessie (Brumbalow) Baughcum. He retired from South East Schokbeton as a sandblaster. Mr. Baughcum was a member of Compassion Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Frances (Crane) Baughcum; daughters: Glenda (Dove) Williams and Anita Avery; son: Timmy Baughcum; sisters: Linda Babb and Chris Franks; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Compassion Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Carson and Rev. Dale Carson officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the service. At other hours the family will be at the home.
