Mr. Charles Edward Davis, 87, of Lavonia, died Saturday, May 4, 2013.
Born October 25, 1925 in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Lon T. and Martha Peeples Davis. He was a machinist with Monroe Auto Equipment Company. Mr. Davis was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife: Marcel "Brady" Davis; a son: Jeff Davis and his wife Wanda of Lavonia; two daughters: Janice Wooten and her husband "Tot" of Lavonia and Judy Dove and her husband Andy of Bowersville; four granddaughters: Tosha and her husband Jared Herrington, MeriBeth and her husband Jess McNeill, JoAnna Davis and Harleigh Dove; and a great granddaughter: JanciLayne Herrington.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife: Edna "Bratcher" Davis; brothers: Jasper Davis, Harmon Davis, Roy Davis, F. M. Davis and L. T. Davis; and sisters: Lucy Davis and Beatrice Bellamy.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cross Roads Baptist Church with Rev. David Wilson officiating.Burial will be in the Cross Roads Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Connie Mack Bowers officiating.The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home – Lavonia Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday.The family will be at the home of Jeff and Wanda Davis 28 Huntington Drive Lavonia, GA.Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to the Cross Roads Baptist Church, 3636 Lavonia Hwy, Hartwell, GA30643.
