Obituary
Mr. Charles Franklin Gay, age 78, of Lavonia, died Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Stephens County Hospital.
Born March 4, 1933, in Whitman, MA, he was the son of the late Melvin and Eveleen Carver Gay. He was a veteran of the US Army, where he served as a Paratrooper during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired professional painter. He enjoyed farming and the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife: Helen Whitney Gay; daughters: Lissett Lombard of Lavonia and Paula Gay of George's Mill, NH; son: Charles Gay, Jr.; step children: Lorna Pillsbury of Keene, NH, Edward Poland of Dearing, NH, and Mark Poland of Dearing, NH; sister: Eveleen Sherman of Bridgewater, MA; grandchildren: Michael and Megan Lombard of Lavonia; and two nephews.
Mr. Gay's wishes were to be cremated. The family will have a private family gathering in his memory.
