Mr. Charles Robert Katz, 54, of 783 Stonebridge Rd., Lavonia, died Friday, September 28 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville.
Born on June 10, 1953 in Fulton Co. GA, he was the son of the late Edward Katz and Ida Landeau Katz.He was retired from Meteor Photo, member and executive director of Franklin County Habitat for Humanity and managed the Habitat Thrift Store.Mr. Katz was of the Jewish faith.
Survivors include his wife: Joan Blakely Katz of the home; sister: Marlyn Kassis and her husband Shlomo of Atlanta; Aunt: Rosa Fitterman of Atlanta; Nephew: Kanter Haley of Lavonia; cousins: Leslie & Ed Lucus of Atlanta, Zena & Lewis Schulman and Stan & Vicky Fitterman of Inverness FL; mother-in-law: Arthurlene Blakely of Lavonia; sister-in-law: Jill Blakely and her partner Beth Emerson of Atlanta; brother-in-law: Jarrett Blakely of Cumming also survive.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 1, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lavonia Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Finger and Rev. Mike Smith officiating.Burial will be in the Lavonia City Cemetery.
