Mr. Charles William Kirkhart, 68, of Reed Creek School Road, Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital, Athens.
Born on June 17, 1949 at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens GA, he was the son of the late Charles Thomas Kirkhart and Margaret Logan Kirkhart.Mr. Kirkhart was a graduate of Monroe Area High School, attended Georgia Military College, Milledgeville GA and was a U. S. Navy veteran, serving in the Vietnam War.He was retired security guard for Tenneco Automotive Equipment Company.
Survivors include his wife: Patricia Hemingway Kirkhart; three sons: James D. Kirkhart, Robert D. Kirkhart and Matthew D. Kirkhart; two daughters: Lael Kirkhart and Stephanie Lopez; eight grandchildren; a brother: Thomas Kirkhart and his wife Vickie; two sisters: Christy K. Belflower and Mary K Mullins and many nieces & nephews.
A memorial service celebrating Charles' life will be held on June 10, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Christian Life Worship Center, 125 Kathwood Drive, Athens GA.Inurnment will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park, 3655 Atlanta Hwy, Athens GA.
The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangement
