Mr. Charles Albert Lawrence, 78, of Clyde Circle, Hartwell, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023 at his home.

Born on May 18, 1944 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late Albert Lawrence and Mary Segars Lawrence.  Mr. Lawrence retired Maintenance Supervisor from Newton Mills with 42 years of service and a member of the Abundant Life Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons: Greg Lawrence (Sonya Mays) of Hartwell and Jeff Lawrence (Lisa) of Lavonia; two brothers: Bobby Lawrence and Eugene Lawrence both of Hartwell; four sisters: Inez Holland of Hartwell; Evelyn Gaines, Annie Ruth Burrell (Mac) and Faye Turner (Berry) all of Elberton; three grandchildren: Josh, Tristal and Brianna Lawrence and ten great-grandchildren also survive.  Mr. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Peggy Peeples Lawrence; three brothers: John Lawrence, Billy Lawrence and Jimmy Lawrence and three sisters: Katherine Buffington, Viola Clark and Betty Jo Carruth.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Lawrence will be held Monday, February 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Ken Brewer, Rev. Ken Buffington and Rev. Tony Franks officiating.  Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
