Obituary

Mr. Charles Luther Sanders, 85, of Anderson, passed away March 16, 2014 in Anderson, South Carolina.

A native of Anderson, Charles was born to Albert Sanders and Ethel Sanders on September 19, 1928.He attended Anderson Boy's High School and retired as a Chief in the United States Navy after 20 years of service.Charles went on to work for Gates Rubber Company and retired as a District Manager.

Charles was a dedicated, member of the Trinity Methodist Church since 1986.He enjoyed numerous friends and had a passion for singing, golf and sharing stories.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife Katheryn in 2008 and parents, Albert and Ethel as well as his siblings Betty Johnson and Martha Ann Vickery.He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Sanders Scott and Teresa Pascal Fortner as well as granddaughters Kris Whitley and Keren Barr.He is the beloved great-grandfather to four great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at Joseph A. Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, March 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Paul Frey, Senior Pastor, Trinity Methodist Church of Anderson officiating.The family visitation will be 1:00 p.m. also at Strickland Funeral Home.There will be a graveside burial following the service at Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Methodist Church, Wounded Warriors, or the charity of your choice.
