Mr. Charlie Boles, 91, of Lavonia Hwy, Bowersville, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital, Lavonia.

Born on October 5, 1926 in Iva SC, he was the son of the late Ernest E. Boles and Elsie Whitman Boles.Mr. Boles was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass Company, a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church, Fellowship SS Class, former deacon and choir member.He also was a member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge #690 and a WWII US Army veteran.

Survivors include one daughter: Carol Goode of Hartwell; three sons: Cliff Boles of Tucson AZ, David Boles (Jean) and Steve Boles all of Hartwell; five step-daughters: Shirley Lord of Spartanburg, SC, Ruth King (Charles) of Anderson, SC, Evelyn McClain (Phil) of Cornelia, GA, Abby Carter (Ken) of Lavonia, and Kala Lystiuk (Patrick) of Hartwell; one brother: Preston Boles of Watkinsville GA; two grandchildren: Jessica Eastin and Michael Goode and a great grandchild: Cameron Sikes also survive. Mr. Boles was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother: Georgia White Boles; his first wife: Freddia Gaines Boles; second wife: Frances Moss Boles; one brother: Waymon Boles; and two sisters: Rosa Lee Brown and Alice Cox.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Dr. Wendell Bannister and Rev. Sean Payne officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with military honors.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cross Roads Baptist Church Building Fund, 3636 Lavonia Hwy, Hartwell GA 30643 or to the charity of one's choice.
