Doyle Clifford "Chip" Bruce, Jr., age 50, of Lavonia, died Monday, March 7, 2016 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born January 13, 1966, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of Peggy Gaines Bruce and the late Doyle Clifford Bruce, Sr. He was a graduate of Franklin County High School and Athens Technical College. He owned and operated Bruce's Body Shop. Mr. Bruce was a member of the Lavonia United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his mother: Peggy Gaines Bruce; son: Doyle Clifford "Clay" Bruce, III; sister and brother-in-law: Beverly and Jeff Thompson; companion: Shannon Davis; step-daughter: Tiffany Horn; and stepson: Easton Davis.
The funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Massengill officiating. Burial will follow in the Lavonia City – Burgess Cemetery.The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lavonia United Methodist Church, 25 Baker Street, Lavonia, GA 30553.
