Obituary
Mr. Christopher Brian "Chris" Heaton, 54, of Eastern Road., Hartwell, passed away unexpectedly at his home, Thursday, January 25, 2018.
Born on January 17, 1964, in Athens, Georgia, he was the son of Roger Ford Heaton and the late Mary Kathryn Wilson Heaton.Mr. Heaton was employed as a service manager with Heaton Investment Properties. He attended the Impact Church of Hartwell.
Mr. Heaton graduated with honors from Hart County High School in 1982. He lettered both in junior varsity and varsity basketball and football, having been selected to the All Region football team in 1981.
Chris attended Georgia Southern University, Emmanuel College, and the University of Georgia. He served in the United States Army, having completed a tour in Germany while enlisted.
Chris enjoyed playing golf, riding his motorcycle and, spending time with his beloved family. During his lifetime, Chris offered his time and carpentry skills to many individuals and organizations. He volunteered with the Salvation Army food drive and he participated in mission trips to Alaska and Louisiana. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, having the heart of a true servant. Chris touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include: his father, Roger Heaton of Hartwell; his wife, Angela Roebuck Heaton; three daughters, Aereyona, Olivia and Aleesha Heaton, all of the home; a sister, Kimberly Brown and her husband Robert of Atlanta; a brother, Kevin Heaton and his wife Jennifer of Hartwell; several nieces and nephews also survive.Mr. Heaton was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn Heaton.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Nick Rucker officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.The family is at their respective homes. Flowers are optional; memorials may be to the Hart County Camp, Gideons International, PO Box 59, Hartwell GA 30643.
