Ms. Cindy Dawn Gilbert, age 40, of Lavonia, died Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Cobb Memorial Hospital.
Born March 4, 1970, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of W. M. Gilbert, Jr. and Patsy Whitworth Gilbert. She was a member of the Lavonia First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her parents: W.M. Gilbert and Patsy Whitworth Gilbert; sisters and brothers-in-law: Tammy & Keith Williams and Tracie & Dee Dowis; two nephews; and one niece.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 16, 2011 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Finger, Rev. Matt Cawthorn, Rev. Mike Smith, and Sheri Fields officiating. It was Ms. Gilbert's wish to be cremated.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour. At other times the family will be at the home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brookhaven Retreat, 1016 1C King Road, Seymour, TN 37865 or to the charity of your choice.
