Eleanor Claire Martin Scales, age 94, of Lavonia, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Hartwell Health & Rehab.
Born December 9, 1925, in Augusta, she was the daughter of the late Frank Jasper Martin and Ada Viola "Banny" Maroney Martin. She retired as a production line worker with Rheem Manufacturing Company. She was a devoted member of Fairview Baptist Church.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Carl D. Scales; sisters: Mary Ellen Nash and Ruth Hendricks Harper; and brothers: Robert "Bobby" Martin and James "Bud" Martin.
The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2020 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. Bruce Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Fairview Baptist Church, 9922 Highway 59, Lavonia, GA 30553
