Miss Clara Cantrell, 92, of Whippoorwill Trail, Hartwell, died Monday, July 21, 2014 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.

Born on December 19, 1921 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Starling A. Cantrell and Currie Bailey Cantrell.She was a machine operator at Coats and Clark and a charter member of the Victory Baptist Church in Lavonia and later attended Calvary Baptist Church in Hartwell.

Survivors include one sister: Henrietta Cantrell of Hartwell and several nieces and nephews. Miss Cantrell was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Blanche Carpenter, Margie Cantrell and Curtis Cantrell and three brothers: Max Cantrell, Olin Cantrell and Holden Cantrell.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Curtis King and Rev. Frank Owens officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.The family is at their respective homes.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson SC 29621.
