Mrs. Clara Jean (Brown) Hunter, age 92, of Lavonia, died Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Brown Health and Rehab.
Born May 30, 1924, in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Virginia (Harper) Brown. Before retirement she worked at Toccoa Manufacturing and she was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Peggy Ross and Marvin of Lavonia; grandchildren Bradford Hunter, Brandon Hunter and Idrick Hancock; and her sisters: Mary Latimer and Essie McCurry.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Ottis Odell Hunter; a daughter: Carolyn Louise Hunter; and a granddaughter: Yolanda Hancock.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2017 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Brother Norman Pelham officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other times the family will be at the home.
