Mrs. Clara Nell Stamey Teasley, 83, of Idlewood Acres, Hartwell, died Friday, December 26, 2014 at Hart Care Center.
Born on February 1, 1931 in Toccoa GA, she was daughter of the late Oscar Edward Stamey and Isabella Garner Stamey.Mrs. Teasley was a former seamstress at Bellcraft Mfg. Company, retired from Walmart and loved being a babysitter and seamstress for her family.She was a member of the Bethesda United Methodist Church, former Sunday School teacher, youth leader and certified Lay Speaker.
She is survived by her three sons: J. Donald Teasley and his wife Tami J.; David L. Teasley and his wife Sandra; C. Andrew Teasley and his wife Sheila all of Hartwell; a brother: Calvin Stamey of Anderson SC; a sister: Marie Robertson of Fayetteville GA; four grandchildren: Robin Bannister and her husband Manuel and Angela Owens and her husband T.J., Amy Taylor and Richard Hix and his wife Tabitha; ten great grandchildren: Noah Bannister, Ella Bannister, Tanner Owens, Michael Owens, Brittany Owens, Alan Hix, Daniel Hix, Tori Bowman, Malorie Allen and Joshua Smith and eight great great grandchildren also survive.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: J. Verlyn Teasley; a grandson: Brian Andrew Teasley and five brothers: John Stamey, Leonard Stamey, Rev. Mervin Stamey, Fred Stamey and Carlton Stamey.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 29 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Kathleen Deegan-Neal, Rev. Doug Brown and Rev. Nathaniel Long officiating.Burial will be in the Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon.The family is at their respective homes.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Bethesda United Methodist Church, 352 Bethesda Church Road, Hartwell GA 30643.
