Mrs. Claudie Johnson Richardson, 90, of 710 Hunts Bridge Rd., Greenville SC, formerly of Hartwell, died Saturday, June 7 at McCalls Hospice House of Greenville, Simpsonville SC
Born on May 16, 1918 in Hart Co. GA, she was the daughter of the late Barnett Johnson and Eunice Cook Johnson.She was retired from Monroe Auto Equipment Co and a member of the Sardis Baptist Church, Hartwell GA.
Survivors include her son: Frank Richardson and his wife India of Toccoa; three daughters: Geralee McCurley and husband Bennie of Alpharetta, JoAnn James and her husband Ken and Barbara Jordan and her husband Don all of Greenville; a brother: Cook Johnson of Anderson; a sister: Elizabeth J. Bowers of Hartwell; six grandchildren: Scott McCurley, Eric McCurley, Jeff Jordan, Jason James, Leia Crosby and Adam Richardson; five great grandchildren: Ben, Emma and Morgan McCurley, Ashtin and Colby James also survive.Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her husband: Columbus Richardson; granddaughter: Kim James; sisters: Myrtie Mae McCollum, Ruth Brown, Reba Vickery and Rethea Brown; brothers: Joel Johnson and Bennie Johnson.
Funeral services will be Monday, June 9 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Barry Brown officiating.Burial will be in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.
