Mr. Clifford Reuben Baugus, age 84, of Lavonia, died Sunday, January 23, 2011 at his home.
Born April 2, 1926, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Claude & Mary (Williams) Baugus. He was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Baugus worked for many years at Lavonia Mfg. and retired from Franklin Industries as a machinist. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Lavonia and the Men's Bible Class.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: L. G. Baugus & Hubert Baugus; and four sisters: Mary Lee Doby, Delores Ballenger, Carolyn Brawner, & Mildred Gibson.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Lou (Harris) Baugus; daughter: Patricia Baugus; granddaughter: Amy Crunkleton; and great-granddaughters: Gracie Rae & Caraline Reese Crunkleton.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. John Forbes, Rev. Brandon Crunkleton, and Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at the home. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Capital Improvement Fund.
