Obituary
Mr. Clifford Ellerbee Waddell, 87, of Hartwell, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021 at his home.
Born on January 18, 1934 in Emory GA, he was the son of the late James B. Waddell and Gladys Kathryn Morgan Waddell.Mr. Waddell attended Decatur Boys High School and graduated from Presbyterian College in 1956.He flew fighters for the United States Navy.He also graduated from the Naval Justice School in Norfolk VA and was the squadron legal officer for VFAW 4 in Atlantic City New Jersey.Mr. Waddell flew for Delta Airlines for 33 years and served as Captain Check Pilot on the DC9, Boeing 727, 757 and 767.
Mr. Waddell is survived by his nephew Robert Chesnut of Santa Cruz, CA, and his great-nephews Bianca and Cliff.He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
A celebration of Mr. Clifford Waddell's life will be Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Mustang Field Hanger, Reed Creek Community, Hartwell.Mr. Waddell wished that his ashes be placed in the family plot at Decatur Cemetery, Decatur GA.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
