Mrs. Colleen Lathan Fowler, 80, of Old Mt. Hebron Road, Hartwell, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.

Born on March 1, 1934 in Mt. Airy, GA, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Lathan and Elsie Mae LaCount Lathan.She was a machine operator at Springs Industries.She was a member of the Hazel Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include; three sons: Sammy Fowler and his wife Sara, Jimmy Fowler and his wife Janet and Danny Fowler all of Harwell; one daughter Kathy McElreath and her husband Gerald of Hartwell; four brothers: Earl Lathan and Louise of Toccoa, Everett Lathan and Fran of Hartwell, Roy Lathan of Hartwell and Cecil Lathan of Mt. Airy; two sisters: Vera O'Barr and Randall of Mt. Airy and Frances Watkins and Fred of Mt. Airy; nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband: Doyle Fowler; one son: Tony D. Fowler; one brother: Charles Lathan; two sisters: Willene Cook and Jean Lathan; and a very special friend Grady Stovall.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Billy Owensby officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The families are at their respective homes.
