Mr. Howard Columbus Baker, 86, of 94 Cade Street, Hartwell, died Friday, March 15 at Hartwell Health Care Center.

Born on September 26, 1926 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late John Thomas "Bud" Baker and Lexie Rumsey Baker.He was a carpenter and a member of the Reed Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Myrtle Lee Eaton & Eula Bell Fleming and four brothers: Sherman "Coon" Baker, Tillman Baker, John Baker & Thornton Baker.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 19 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.Burial will be in the Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday night.The family is at their respective homes.
