Mrs. Connie Lynn Bowen Hayes, 63, of 215 Mudman Road, Hartwell, died Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born on January 27, 1950 in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Dallas Edward Bowen and Betty King Bowen.She was a former Licensed Practical Nurse at Hart Care Center and a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry T. Hayes of the home; two sons: Jerry T. Hayes, Jr. and his wife Christina of Athens, Robert G. Hayes of Hartwell; one daughter, Angie H. McLane and her husband David of Hartwell; five grandchildren: Avia N. Hayes, Basia R. Hayes, John-Thomas D. McLane, Savannah K. McLane, and Meagan L. Barnes.Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Vickie Fagan.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 30 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Dr. Donald Little officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night.The family is at the home of David and Angie McLane, 980 Mt. Hebron Road, Hartwell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to defray funeral and medical expenses.
