Mrs. Connie Dell Dockery Johnson, 90, of Fairview Ave., Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Hart Care Center.

Born on June 29, 1926 in Royston, GA, she was the daughter of the late Luther Dockery and Maybelle Pilgrim Dockery.Mrs. Johnson was a retired inspector from Hartwell Garment and Gips Mfg. She was a member of the Flat Shoals Baptist Church, where she was also a former Sunday School Teacher, member of the WMU, Choir and the Inspiration Sunday School Class.She also taught Sunday School at the nursing homes.

Survivors include her husband: Claude R. Johnson; one daughter: Lynda Varsallona (Angelo) of Lavonia; two sons: Larry Johnson (Gail), Carroll Johnson (fiancée Fran Colquitt) all of Hartwell; nine grandchildren: Robby Johnson, Lance Johnson, Sheri Walker, Rev. Ken Buffington, Chris Buffington, Jennifer Wright, Bart Johnson, Ben Johnson, Beth Martin;twenty eightgreat-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one brother: Johnny Dockery of Canon and two sisters: Betty Fields of Bowersville, and Barbara Maxwell of Hartwell.Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Frank Dockery, Howard Dockery; two sisters: Helen Carey and Annie Bell Dudley.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Wendell Bannister and Rev. Ken Buffington officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening.The family is at the home.
