Mrs. Connie Lee (Crowe) Reed, age 82, of Lavonia, died Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the home of her daughter. She was the widow of the late George Edwin Reed.
Born March 11, 1933, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Melvina (Landreth) Crowe. She retired from Georgia Power as a customer service representative after 29 years of service and then worked as a receptionist for Dr. Dye for more than 17 years.She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Annette and David Carson; grandchildren: Karen and Jon Mitchell and Kerri and Derek Griffin; great-grandchildren: Ansley and Audrey Mitchell and Jack and Reed Griffin; and special friend: Phil Franks. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters: Doris Isbell, Mildred Williams, and Helen Whiting; and brothers: James Cawthon, M. C. Cawthon and Fred Cawthon. The family gratefully acknowledges Amedisys Hospice and especially nurse Matthew Rabern for their care of Mrs. Reed.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Providence United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Brown and Rev. Joshua Carr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to Providence United Methodist Church, P. O.
