Obituary

Mrs. Connie Timms Rice, 64, of Red Fox Run, Hartwell, passed away, Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, Kindred Hospice Unit, Athens, GA.

Born on December 9, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Fant Thomas Timms and Johnnie Brown Cleveland. She was a graduate of Brenau University. Mrs. Rice was a human resource manager with Glen Raven Custom Fabrics in Anderson, SC and a member of the First Baptist Church of Hartwell.

Survivors include her husband: John A. Rice, Jr; one daughter: Dr. Chelsea R. McKelvey and her husband Dr. Seth McKelvey of Auburn, AL; one granddaughter: Juniper Joy McKelvey. Mrs. Rice was preceded in death by her parents and one sister: Darlene T. Turner.

A memorial service celebrating Connie's life will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Dr.Steve Albanese and Dr. Hugh Kirby officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell on Sunday prior to the service.The family is at the home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Hartwell, Youth Mission Trips, 81 E. Howell Street, Hartwell GA 30643.

The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
