Cora Dale Grubbs, age 80, of Lavonia, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Brown Health & Rehab in Royston.
Born March 11, 1939, in Greenville, SC, she was married to the late James Clement Grubbs. She retired as a spinner from Boaz in Royston. She was a member of Bowman Church of God. Cora will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Paul Duckworth and Roy Duckworth; granddaughter: Sherry Reed; and grandson-in-law: Wayne Witcher.
She is survived by her children: AJ & Mary Adjutant, Gene & Faye Brown, Johnny Mitchell, Carl Mitchell, Steve Mitchell, and Teresa Rholetter; grandchildren: Rena Adjutant, Jackie Price, Jackson & Shirley Alewine Compton, Johnny Mitchell, Jessica Martin, Steven Mitchell, Kayla Witcher, and Renee Dean; great-grandchildren: Tyson Price, Candler Price, Denver Thurman, Amber Witcher, Justin Witcher, Madison Dean, Bentley Dean, Talan Martin, and Elaina Martin; and great-great-grandchildren: Sean Connely, Melanie Wimmer, and Avenleigh Price.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. Stacy Lynch and Rev. Terry Wood officiating. Cremation will follow the service in accordance with her request. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to the Bowman Church of God.
