Mrs. Corrine "Pet" Hilley Bridges, 85, of Hartwell, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, March 27, 2015, surrounded by her family.

Born April 8, 1929, in Abbeville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Cooper and Ruth (Waters) Hilley. She was the widow of Jessie Boyd Bridges, Sr. Mrs. Bridges was a loving and caring mother, Aunt Pet, Big Mama, and Maw-Maw. She was a retired textile worker and caregiver. She was a devoted member of the Liberty Congregation Church in Hart County. She loved her church and church family. She served as teacher of the Beginners Sunday School Class, former Sunday School teacher, church deaconess, and choir member.

She is survived by one son: Jessie Boyd Bridges, Jr. (Barbara) of Murrayville; one daughter: Dianne Spears (Jimmy) of Hartwell; one step-son: Dan Bridges (Judy) of Elberton; one special brother who she loved so much: James Hilley (Connie) of Calhoun Falls, SC; one sister who she raised and loved as her own daughter: Mary Gosnell (Charles) of Anderson, SC; three grandsons: Matthew Bridges (Julia) of Lakeland, GA, Greg Spears of Hartwell, and Grant Spears of Hartwell; two great-granddaughters: Cheyenne and Audrey Bridges of Lakeland, GA; and several nieces and nephews that were precious to her. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her step-son: Steve Bridges; twin sister: Irene "Peggy" Bridges; sister: Betty Hilley; and brother: Ray Hilley.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2015 at Liberty Congregational Church with Rev. Troy Ayers and Dr. Wade Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The body will placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. The family will receive friend at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family is at their respective homes.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to Liberty Congregation Church, 1845 Liberty Church Rd, Dewy Rose, GA 30634.
