Mr. Curtiss Vernon "Curt" Vickery, 72, of LeCroy Lane, Hartwell, died Wednesday, August 1 at his home.

Born on March 10, 1940 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late Marion J. Vickery and Geneva Rice Vickery. He was retired from Monroe Auto Equipment Company and a member of the Bethany Baptist Church where he was a former deacon and assistant SS teacher and a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife, Janet S. Vickery of the home; one son, Dane Vickery and his wife Mylissa of Simpsonville SC; four daughters, Donna Nigro and her husband Michael of Ridgeland MS, Christi Balfour and her husband Paul of Burnsville MN, Darlene Park and her husband David of Duluth GA and Mollie Spurlock and her husband, Harrison "Sonny" of Griffin GA; a sister, Juanita Bailey of Hartwell; sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.Mr. Vickery was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Joe T. Vickery and four sisters, Geraldine Jordan, Eula Sanders, Sara Lankford and Montine Putman.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 4 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Jerry Durham, Rev. Britt Mize and Rev. Johnny Ashworth officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
