Mr. Daniel Joseph "Dan" Schulingkamp Jr., SMSGT, U.S. Air Force Retired, 80, of Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell GA, passed away Friday, June 3, 2016 at AnMed Health Medical Center, Anderson SC.

Born on September 11, 1935 in New Orleans LA, he was the son of the late Daniel Joseph Schulingkamp Sr. and Leona Theady Schulingkamp.Mr. Schulingkamp was of the Catholic Faith and attended LSU.Mr. Schulingkamp started his military career in the US Marine Corps and finished his career as a Senior Master Sergeant with 38 years of service from the US Air Force.

Survivors include his wife: Virginia Wilkins Schulingkamp, three sons: Daniel "Danny" Schulingkamp III of Harahan LA, Lee Parker of Jesup GA and Fess Parker Sr. and JoAnn of Jefferson GA; three daughters: Crystal Dennis and Kenny of Harahan LA, Erin Macaluso and Richard of Harahan LA and Gina Miele and Barry of Buford GA; a sister: Beverly Blanchard of Metairie LA; twelve grandchildren: Amanda Dennis, Sean Dennis, Brittany Schulingkamp, Kayla Schulingkamp, Mallory Schulingkamp, Kenneth Gerdes II, Brooke Macaluso, Jesse Miele, Cole Miele, Chandler Miele, Chelsea Parker and Fess Parker Jr.; two great-grandchildren: Adilynn Munna and Aiden Miele.Mr. Schulingkamp was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Dennis Schulingkamp.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with burial in the Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening.The family is at the home.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 105 West Park Drive, Suite C, Athens GA 30606.
