Rev. Daniel Nash, 96 and Eloise Brown Nash, 90, of Pensacola, FL, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Covenant Care Hospice in Pensacola.
Daniel Lorenzo Nash was born July 28, 1926 in Ontario, Canada. He was the son of the late Alfred Augustus & Irene Anna Bailey Nash. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Canadian Merchant Marines. He was a founding member of the Franklin Springs Fire Department. Rev. Nash was an Ordained Bishop with the Church of God and served as pastor of several churches. He was a member of Williamston Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Edra Iona Nash; daughter: Lois Chambers; stepson: Rev. Dennis Pruitt; siblings: Georgina Walker, Alfie Nash, Norman Nash, Ferdie Nash, and Pierre Nash.
Eloise Vastie Brown Nash was born April 27, 1933 in Franklin County. She was the daughter of the late Jewett Frank and Amy Buris Ayers Brown. She was a homemaker and a personal caregiver. Mrs. Nash was a member of Williamston Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband: Joel Ralph Pruitt; son: Rev. Dennis Pruitt; siblings: Lewis Brown, Shelba Byrum, Joyce White, Mary Farmer, and Bennie Brown.
They are survived by children: Gary Nash & Joan Gamblin; daughter-in-law: Lynda Pruitt; grandchildren: Brian Nash, Chris Nash, Daniel Nash, Mack Nash, Joel Pruitt, Matthew Pruitt, Jonathan Pruitt, Mandy Pesaresi, Robin McDonald, Janice Brock, & Julie Gamblin; and siblings: Faye Beck, Barbara Dove, Sara Dove, & Larry Brown. Many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service for Rev. & Mrs. Nash will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2023 at the Carnesville Church of God with Rev. Gary Ledford and Rev. Herman Nations officiating. Rev. Nash will be buried next to his first wife in Franklin Springs City Cemetery and Mrs. Nash will be buried next to her first husband in Nails Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Gettis Allen will officiate both graveside committal services. There will be a family viewing at the funeral home Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. and a public visitation at Carnesville Church of God from 12:00 p.m. until the service.
