Mr. Marvin David Allen, age 56, of Canon, died Thursday, May 30, 2013 at his home.
Born June 28, 1956, in Royston, he was the son of the late Charles and Marjorie (Carter) Allen. He was a self employed mobile home salesman and was a member of the Bowersville Church of God.
Survivors include his children: Tonya Allen Bond, Ashley Allen; Christopher David Allen, Randall Allen, Matthew Allen; Taylor Bocanegra and Dana Walker; sisters: Patricia Dobbs and Joyce Bragg; brothers: Lamar Allen, Douglas Allen, Edward Allen, Rev. Gettis Allen, Rev. Bobby Joe Allen and Rev. Rodney Allen; grandchildren: Jonathan Abercrombie, Megan Abercrombie, Marshall Bond, Lauren Allen, Dalton Allen, Jaylee Walker and Jayanna Walker.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2013 at the Bowersville Church of God with Rev. Gettis Allen, Rev. Bobby Joe Allen and Rev. Rodney Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Bowers Memorial Park with Rev. Johnny Stowe officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.At other hours the family will be at the home of Tonya Bond 19515 Hwy 59 Carnesville. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to the family to help cover medical expenses.
