David Dean Broome, age 80, of Lavonia, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born June 17, 1941 in Oconee County, SC, he was the son of the late D. C. and Leila Honea Broome. Before Retirement he was a Loom Fixer for West Point Pepperell.

He is survived by his wife: Duchie Faye (Hobbs) Broome; sons: Chevish "Pete" Broome (Amanda) and James Kevin Broome; grandchildren: Samantha (Farley) Gibson, Selina (Farley) Sanders, Adam Broome and Peyton & Georgia Broome; sisters: Bonnie Whitsel, Reggie Kennedy, Barbara Ann Gilmore, and Shirley Morris.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter: Tracy (Broome) Farley; brother: Chevis "Rudy" Broome; and sister: Peggy Hall.

Mr. Broome's request was to be cremated and no formal services are planned at this time.
