David Gerald Carter, age 53, of Lavonia, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born on June 14, 1972, in Jacksonville, Florida, David was the son of Evelyn Hersey Carter and the late Robert Earl Carter. He was also the husband of the late Leslie Kay Carter. David may have looked rough around the edges, but he had a tender heart.

A true motorcycle enthusiast, David found joy and camaraderie riding with his close friends from the BFFB. His passion for the open road was matched only by his dedication to maintaining an immaculate landscape at his home. Additionally, David cherished his animals, including his dogs, Bobby and Troi, and his cat, Ursula, who brought him endless joy.

David leaves behind a loving family, including his mother, Evelyn Carter; his brother, Daniel Carter, and sister-in-law, Karen; and his sister, Tresa Goodson, and brother-in-law, Joseph Travaglini. He will also be fondly remembered by his neighbors, who always looked out for him and held him in high regard.

In accordance with his wishes, David was cremated. The family will honor his memory with a private celebration of his life.
