Mr. David Paul Coker, age 48, of Lavonia, died Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born June 2, 1960, in Crockett County, TN, he was the son of the late R.D. and Maxine (Waddle) Coker. He was a tractor driver contracted to the state to clear right-of-ways.
He is survived by wife: Bobbie (Whittington) Benfield; daughters: Lisa and Cindy Benfield both of Lavonia; son: James Benfield of LA; sister: Shymra Kay Coker of Longview, WA; brothers: Donald D., Gary Lynn, Douglas Darrell, and Kenneth R.D. Coker all of Leesville, LA, Mitchell Lewis Coker of Opelousas, LA, & Randy Paul Coker of Lake Charles, LA; 5 grandchildren: Kelsey, Kaylee, Sean, Josh, and Makenna.
Funeral service will be held as a visitation Saturday, February 7, 2009 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home.
