Mr. James David Hicks, 45, of 362 White Oak Road, Lavonia, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Cobb Memorial Hospital in Royston.
Born on November 27, 1966 in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late James Robert Hicks and Lucy Jane Hicks.He was employed with Autozone as a truck driver and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife: Carolyn Dickson Hicks; three daughters: Nicole Hicks, of Tignall, GA, Ashley Brown Haynie of Lavonia, and DeAnn Smithson of Gainesville, GA; two sisters: Dottie Dutton and Deborah Hicks both of Hartwell; five grandchildren:Logan, Liam, and Lainey Smithson, Mason Brown, and Chastyn Haynie.He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Burial will follow in the Lavonia City Cemetery.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Friday.The family is at the home of Ashley and Cody Haynie, 260 Bartson Street, Lavonia, GA.
