David Robert McCall, age 61, of Benifield Drive, Lavonia, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens.
Born June 5, 1958, in Atlanta, he was the son of George Robert "Bob" and Carolyn Kay (Jones) McCall. He was a foreman with Brysan Utility Contractors, Inc. His passions were spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren), working, and being outdoors. He was a hardworking man and enjoyed the lake life and looking after his animals. He was the dependable person that you could call on when in need. He would give you the shirt off his back with a smile on his face and a big belly laugh. He learned to run anything with an engine from his father and passed his knowledge to the next generation.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his companion and mother of his children: Cherie McCall; children: Jessica McCall, Phillip McCall, Justin McCall, and Christopher McCall; grandchildren: Brynlee McCall, Kerrigan McCall, Rowan Hill, Dakota McCall, Caison Martin, Riane McCall, Trinity Stowe, and Matti Stowe; siblings: Donna McClearn, Mindy Barber, Michael McCall, and Stephen McCall several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. Brent Ross officiating. Burial will follow in the Lavonia City – Burgess Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
