Mr. David Ray McCormick, 58, of Hartwell, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023 at AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson, SC.

Born on May 27, 1964 in Naples, FL, he was the son of the late Harvy McCormick and Sandra Smith McCormick. Mr. McCormick was a self-employed handyman. David loved life and loved to make others laugh.

He is survived by his fiancé: Elizabeth Steigerwald; two daughters: Elizabeth M. Peterson of Naples, FL, and Chelsea M. Tucker of Williston, FL and her husband Bo; sister: Teresa Harraden of Naples, FL; aunt: Helen Daniels of Naples, FL; cousins: Becky, Joey, and Danny Daniels, all of Naples, FL; and his best friend: Ingrid Stout.

It was Mr. McCormick's wishes to be cremated and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held at a later date by the family.

The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
