Mr. David Durwood Price, 66, of 14383 Highway 17, Lavonia, husband of Brenda (Gibson) Price, died Monday, November 6, 2006 at Emory University Hospital.
Born June 23, 1940, in Franklin County, he was a son of the late Royce C. Price, Sr. and Ann (Gowan) Price. In 1958, he graduated from Lavonia High School. He was a textile technician with Alan B. Sibley – Miliken Plant. Mr. Price served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Elks Lodge. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Brenda; two daughters and sons-in-law: Tonya and John Baird of Toccoa and Kim and Tye Brown of Houston, TX; and four grandchildren: Hayley and Abby Baird and Rhett and Grayson Brown. He was predeceased by his parents and brother: Royce C. Price, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. from the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Bielski and Mr. Mike Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Lavonia City Cemetery. The Elks Lodge of Toccoa will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2565 Thompson Bridge Road, Suite 114, Gainesville, GA 30501. The family will be at the home.
