Mr. David George Stafford, 86, of Hartwell, passed away Monday, November 25, 2024 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia.

Born on September 15, 1938 in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of the late George S. Stafford and Margaret Dill Stafford. Mr. Stafford graduated from Georgia Tech and was initially an engineer for the Ford Motor Company, then he became a supervisor for Kysor Warren. He was also a member of the John Wesley United Methodist Church in Norcross, GA, and the Hart County Golden K. David was an Eagle Scout in his youth, loved fishing, and enjoyed everything cars.

Survivors include his two sons: Tom Stafford of Anderson, SC, and Tim Stafford of Brier, WA; one brother: John W. Stafford of Jefferson, GA; and one granddaughter: Samantha Stafford. Mr. Stafford is preceded in death by his parents and his wife: Judy Kay Watson Stafford.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

It was Mr. Stafford's wishes to be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral of Hartwell with Dr. Hugh Kirby officiating.
