Rev. David Arthur Wilson, age 90, of Bowersville, passed away Tuesday, July 4th, 2023 at the Callie and John Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.

He was born June 23, 1933, in Anderson County, SC, the son of the late John Victor and Grace Burrows Wilson and brother of the late Jimmy Wilson, Mickey Wilson, Kayle Bannister, Patsy Rochester, Johnnie Kernels, and Barbee Smith. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and a graduate of Anderson College and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Rev. Wilson served in pastoral ministry at various churches in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, and Louisiana. After retirement, he served as interim pastor to several churches in the Franklin-Hart area. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was an avid Clemson Tigers fan.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years: Carolyn Taylor Wilson of the home; daughter: Robin Wilson (Greg) Brown of Bowersville; son: Barry (Lecia) Wilson of Bowersville; grandchildren: Gretchen (Jimmy) Binford, Tucker Brown, Carter Wilson, and Carleigh Wilson; and great-grandchildren: Jay Binford, Drew Binford, and Reagan Brown. In addition to his parents and siblings, he was preceded in death by his beloved pug, Cooper.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
