Dawn (Macomson) Vickery, age 48, of New Franklin Church Road, Canon, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born June 19, 1970, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of George Macomson and Carol (Beebe) Reid. She was employed by Ross Controls. Dawn loved children and was an AWANA teacher and worked in other youth and children's programs at Lavonia Church of God, where she was a member.
She is survived by her parents: George & Sandra Macomson and Carol Reid; husband: David Vickery; step-daughters & sons-in-law: Elizabeth & Nathan Hipp and Jennifer & Tom Schie; grandchildren: Dylan Woody, Sophia Hipp, Ethan Hipp, and Porter Schie; brother: Jason Macomson, sisters & brothers-in-law: Kim & Danny Young and Krystal & Garland Fitzpatrick; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
The funeral service will be held 6:00 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2018 at Lavonia Church of God with Rev. Adam Tripp officiating. A private burial will follow in Double Branches Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at the home of Krystal and Garland Fitzpatrick. Flowers are optional or donations may be made to the Lavonia Church of God AWANA program or Encounter Student Ministries.
