Mrs. Deane A. Vickery, 92, of Fairview Ave, Hartwell, died Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.

Born on May 3, 1922 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Rufus S. Adams and Lula Grizzle Adams.She was a retired sales clerk with the Little Dollar Store, active at the Hart County Senior Center and a member of the Freedom Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters: Delores White and Barbara Andrews both of Hartwell; four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren also survive.She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace J. Vickery Jr.; a sister, Melba Senkbeil; five brothers, Munford Adams, Clinton Adams, Lowell Adams, Pringle Adams and Joel Adams.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Doug Brown officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends Saturday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.The family is at the home of her granddaughter, Kelly Barnard, 151 Fairview Ave, Hartwell.Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson SC 29621.
