Ms. Debbie Gurley Kelley, 60, of Bowersville, GA, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.

Born on November 25, 1962, in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late James H. "Johnny" Gurley, U.S. Army Veteran, and the late Mary Edna Sosby Gurley.  Debbie was a graduate of Anderson College and the University of Georgia; a former teacher at the Hart County Middle School; and a secretary for Liberty Tax Service in Hartwell.  She was also a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church.  Debbie loved cats and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband:  David L. Kelley, Sr., of Stone Mountain, GA; brother:  CPT Richard H. Gurley, U.S. Army Veteran, of Bowersville, GA; special friend:  Bill Murphy of Starr, SC; and three aunts:  Shirley Green and Sara Gurley, both of Bowersville, and Helen Terry of Clemson, SC.  Several cousins also survive.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 8, 2023, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Ms. Debbie Kelley will be on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Sean Payne and Rev. Ben Coleman officiating.  Burial will be in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.
